Malcolm
I recently stayed at Convent Hunter Valley for my 25th wedding anniversary, and it was a truly memorable experience. The front office staff were exceptional, providing us with a complimentary upgrade and assisting us in making a reservation at Circa restaurant. They even made sure to inform Circa about my wife's dietary restrictions and my hearing problems. Circa went above and beyond by offering us a private room due to a large party in the main restaurant. This level of service was all thanks to the efforts and helpful advice from the staff at Peppers Convent. , the newly refurbished garden room was stunning, and the decor throughout the main house was lovely. The room itself was clean and comfortable, offering beautiful views. I must also mention the outstanding service we received from one particular female staff member who escorted us to the restaurant and a male staff member who assisted us with ordering pizza and providing a cozy space to enjoy our food and wine. our stay at Convent Hunter Valley was absolutely delightful.
Nothing to be said 👍

Lovely ambience, good breakfast and right next door to Roberts Resturant so you can stroll home after a few bottles of the Hunters finest wines.
Our room was a bit small but this wasn't too much of a problem.

The convent, when at it's original home in Coonambe, New South Wales, was home to nuns, and a boarding school for 16 high school girls, of whom I was one, from 1966 to 1969. Years after having left school, and moving, I learned that it was moved to the Hunter Valley as a holiday resort. I determined to visit at some future point, and on december 16th 2011, I finally had the chance. As we drove down the treelined entrance, I was overwhelmed by it's beauty, and was transformed by it's grandeur. It was as I'd remembered. Thanks to the wonderful staff, who made our stay memorable, and to Peppers, for retaining the charm, and the original appearance of the Convent. To those who would appreciate the romance, and charm, of visiting a tiny piece of the past, I highly reccommend Pepper's Convent.

The Convent offered a charming atmosphere that transported me back in time. The vintage decor, from the period-style furnishings to the beautiful gardens, created a truly delightful ambiance. As a senior woman, I appreciated the accessibility of the hotel. The quiet surroundings and easy navigation made it a perfect getaway for anyone seeking tranquility and relaxation.
If I had to suggest one improvement for a better vacation for senior people, I would request clearer signage throughout the property. As an older traveler, it was a little challenging to find my way around at times.

The value for money at Convent Hunter Valley was excellent. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us.
The food for breakfast could have been better, with a wider variety and quicker service.

Explored the Hunter Valley's delights, flew high in a hot air balloon, and relaxed in style. The menu, with hints of quirkiness, delighted my taste buds. Endless outdoor activities and well-equipped facilities made it the perfect getaway.
Who doesn't love soft pillows and easy-to-enter showers? Truly unforgettable!

Stunning Views and good location. We enjoyed the beautiful views and could easily access the main attractions in the area. The rooms were clean and had good amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful as well.
Lackluster experience overall. However, there were some downsides to our stay.

We had a great weekend getaway in the Hunter Valley wine region. The hotel exceeded our expectations with its beautiful and romantic atmosphere. We enjoyed the outdoor pool and tennis court. The room we stayed in was well equipped and comfortable. the breakfast and dinner provided were of high quality.
The complex's dining options could be confusing. Afternoon tea was only available on certain days, and dinner was also only on specific days.

The hotel is located in the center of the Hunter Valley wine region, close to wineries and with a park-like property. Guests can enjoy a poolside within a beautiful garden, a great view from some of the rooms, and a delicious breakfast. Rooms have beautiful interiors, and several facilities, as seen in the reviews that mention amazing front desk service, welcome fruit platters, and restaurant 88 with excellent service.
Some guests complained about the lack of attention to detail from staff management with regards to special occasions and cleanliness in the rooms.

The staff members strive to ensure every guest has an unforgettable experience in the Hunter region. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and pampered. The eclectic charm of the Champagne Lounge, with its open fire, created a cozy and inviting atmosphere to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring the Hunter Valley region. Each of the elegant guest rooms was lovingly crafted to embrace us in the comforts of a grand manor house. We felt like royalty staying in such a beautiful and luxurious setting. The hotel boasts a wide range of onsite facilities to meet the needs of every guest, including the acclaimed onsite Restaurant Circa 1876. We were blown away by the exquisite regional wines and ingredients used in their event menus.
Air conditioning in our room seemed to not be working correctly.

We had a wonderful stay at this 4-star hotel in the Hunter Valley. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the wineries. We were thrilled to find out that it was just a short distance from the renowned Circa restaurant. The staff at the hotel were exceptional, providing top-notch service and going above and beyond to accommodate our needs. The room itself was spacious and beautifully decorated in a period style, with a stunning view of the courtyard and pool area. The breakfast served on the verandah was delicious, with prompt service and hot food. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the expansive grounds and taking leisurely strolls after our meals.
We would have preferred a separate shower for easier access, but this did not detract from our overall experience at this luxurious hotel. We highly recommend this place to all our friends and family members who are looking for a comfortable and quality stay in the Hunter Valley.

We stayed in the old chapel room when it was a nunnery, over 600km away from its current location. The building has been beautifully restored and modernized, while maintaining its historic charm. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the on-site restaurant was excellent, offering both table service and a comprehensive buffet breakfast. The hotel is situated in the heart of wine country, making it the perfect base for exploring the vineyards.
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.
